Semana 28--Yes, I Went Swimming on My Mission!
Hey wow what an awesome week lots to tell everyone!!
To get started, No there is still no water or electricity. But its good, we goin on 2 weeks strong rip ;)
But nah evertything is good, actually there has been lots of riot rumors because the light problems are increasing in the dr... So i guess we'll see. The hermanas in our district arrived to a distrit meeting 4 hours late because of the people burning tires and cutting down trees while they were on the way to enriquillo, woooo! Fun stuff haha.
But let me thing the best thing that happened was that we had our baptisms on saturday!!! Sooooo cool wow like i cant even describe it. We went to this beautiful place called rollo salao, its like a natural pool right by the ocean, and we baptised 2 of the 5! the other 3 we are still working with to prepare, and hoping to prepare them for the end of the transfer :) So we went there, had the baptism, i baptised our investigator named diriana, she is such a sweet girl and we always are joking around with eachother. We were told to stay in the water after each batpsism, so there we were, me, elder diamond, elder erickson, and elder de la merced, with 1 investigator each. President santos (mission president) and his wife were there. After they took pictures, they told us "Banense!" so naturally we all took a good swim in this pond, and yes, it was authorized by the mission president :) Most fantastic moment ever.
We told president about the water problem, and he and his wife took us to this hotel that they were staying in, and asked the people to wash all of our clothes, treated us to lunch ( I got an amazing steak) and we just got to hang out for a sec with them. They had to leave but the clothes were still washing, so they just told us to leave once the clothes were done, and grab a ride home, cuz they really had to go. So we just got to chill at a really nice tropical resort for like 2 hours after they left cuz these clothes took forever. Not a bad way to spend your saturday eh? ;)
Anyways, the work is really progressing here, we have tons of people were working with, and have 7 more baptism dates with truely awesome people! My time has run out, but i hope everything is good where ever you guys all are!
have a great week!
Elder Murphy
