Semana 23--Baptism and the Time When Saw my Life Flash Before my Eyes

Hey everyone i hope youre all having a great week!

This week was very interesting.  Super fun though!  Had a great intercambio with my district leader, we are pretty much the same person haha and just had a lot to talk about.  Hes a guy i really look up to in the mission so i enjoyed it a lot, probably more than he knows.  So that was great!

But yeah, so this week we had some awesome experiences, but the highlight was when we got my converts mom (angel) to stop smoking!  This lady has had a problem with smoking for a very long time...  And has never been able to give it up.  Well, we passed by one day to see how she was, and she had really reduced her smoking, one time in the past week!!  We shared, and had her say a prayer and ask god to help her... We sat in silence for 5 minutes after the prayer, she slowly stood up and went into the house, got her pipe and told us to throw it "so far away into such a deep lake that the devil himself wont be able to grab it out" haha.  Anyways.. she is going to get baptised this saturday and i couldnt be more pumped! Such an amazing experience.

The other thing that happened is that well, i nearly died haha.  So i guess not that awesome? But cool story.  we were walking away from the supermarket in san cristobal, and i was like just walking right under a transformer, one of those big electrical thingys right? and BOOM a giant explosion happened and i was just like what the heck? my comp grabs me and we like book it behind a wall cuz he thought someone shot at us haha.  Turns out, the thing literally exploded.  There was an over charge of electricity, and the thing exploded, all the glass and everything.  But the cool thing is, not even a tiny bit touched me.  Glass all around me, and electricity had shot into the ground, but not even the smallest scratch on me... I guess the lord has a work for me to do here huh?

Anyways you guys, I hope everything is well at home.  It seems as i get further into my mission, the more i realize to take a pause and look at the beauty all around us.  Christ loves us, and he doesnt expect us to be perfect.  He came here for a reason, because he knew we weren't going to be perfect.  The world around us makes it seem like we need to be, or that we need to hide ourselves, but really guys just go out there and love life, have fun, and love your families, friends, and opportunites.  And really, through that way of living, we gain a testimony of the plan that our father in heaven has for is... it why he sent his only begotten son, and why we came here.  It is all part of HIS plan.
